Renfro Hayes

Pictured right is Renfro Hayes. This man devoted most of his later life, attempting to uncover exactly who assassinated Dr. King. Employed as a private investigator.

In his last years, he suffered poor health combined with abject poverty. Even so, he assisted as much as he could in keeping the dream alive by helping Jacqueline Smith in any way within his means. This photograph shows a banner hand painted by Renfro Hays which was erected shortly after Jacqueline had been forcibly evicted from the Lorraine Motel. He died some time afterwards in tragic circumstances.
