Help is needed - NOW!

Building work has already started on renovating Bessie Brewers rooming house on South Main Street, as part of the National Civil Rights Museum's $8 million expansion which will transport tourists back to the hate-filled days of 1968 and display a wide array of exhibits from Dr. King's discarded gum wrappers to the alleged murder weapon. The bushy above the 8 feet retaining wall, used on the Protest Site is currently being cleared and it would seem that it is only a matter of time before the Protest Site is evicted. Although Jacqueline Smith has the cast-iron assurance from the NCRM that the Protest Site will remain, it is difficult to believe that there will be no disruption. Non-violent demonstration and civil disobedience were always the key tactics of the Civil Rights Movement under the direction of Dr. King. This strategy will continue. After 14 years, the NCRM cannot be allowed to quash the dreams of Dr. King.

The violence has to cease, we have to stop worshipping the dead and devote our energy and finances to helping others. Please help now, time is running out if we are to make the National Civil Rights Museum wake up to reality.
