Jacqueline
Smith - Guilty (and proud of it!)
On
March 1st at Shelby County Courthouse, Jacqueline Smith was found guilty
of Criminal Trespass and Obstructing a Highway. Two other charges; Disorderly
Conduct and Breaching a Restraint Order were dismissed.
These
"trumped-up" charges were carried out by the City, on the
instructions of the National Civil Rights Museum. The Executive Director's
Board Report clearly shows how the City worked in conjunction with the
NCRM to bully Jacqueline. Whilst the Mayor's office and attorney Robert
Spence were being thanked for their efforts in relocating the protest
site with "minimum negative publicity" a senior member closely
connected to the National Civil Rights Museum chose to "leak"
this document. This bold action illustrates that even within the Museum,
there is a person of goodwill, who feels ashamed at the disgraceful
way Jacqueline Smith has been prejudiced by the Mayor's office.
Letters
have been sent to the Mayor, Attorney Robert Spence and the Executive
Director of the NCRM demanding a full explanation of their actions -
we await their response.
